Jefferson 35 SMCC 20

Jefferson dominates up front while the big FB gains 5 yards a pop. the Falcons are a laugh right now. Big Heads and no work ethic. GO BEARS!!!!!

just thought id quote the jefferson faithful, lets see how they handle this one

To 9:53 poster, Jefferson didn't come to play?!? But all week the talk was that Jefferson was the team of the week?!? :'( hahahaha and that's why u don't brag about some silly 9-0 JV team. That's irrelevant to anything in two yrs on a varsity level. And as for the airport game, yeah not an impressive win but hey a W is a W when you don't talk smack and just play the game.

Jefferson, I tried to tell you, all talk and no play makes Jefferson a slow team! The reason you play good non-league competition is prepare yourself. Playing patsies makes you feel good about yourself, but sets you up for a letdown! Same situation with Milan and Airport. Huron migh be a surprise, but hard to tell playing the two worst defenses in SE Micigan.

congrats coach barber on your first of hopefully many wins.

chris saw your post on mlive, i never knew there was a team called the bessemer speedboys or watersweet nimrods, those names seem so outrageous that im almost wondering if your making them up!

Some thoughts on tonight's games.

I think SMCC is as good as most expected. They dominated Jefferson tonight.

How good is Crockett?

Flat Rock is small.

Nice revenge win for Milan

What's up with the View? Did I hype them too much?

After seeing the Airport/FR game, I don't think either team is near as good as last season.

Anonymous said...

The problem with the view is that they simply have and offense that is not playing very well right now. flat rock is very small...just like always. your right the milan win was nice revenge.

Anonymous said...

Couldnt make the game tonight but its good to hear that SMCC can be the power house and shut down those beach rats! Great job out on the field tonight boys! keep up all the hard work & remember that your strength comes from your faith!

Anonymous said...

Huron vs Airport next week how do you see that one playing out?

Anonymous said...

To sum up my rams...mistake mistake mistake yea they re young but we can't continue to kill our drives with holding penalties we re not that good to make up for them. Our defense just seems out of position all the time. Should of been a closer game.

Bear hunting started early in Monroe...

Jefferson all I can say is if you want to talk the talk you should be able to walk the walk. I would keep your goose egg as a reminder on how the rest of the season may go. What are you going to say about GI coming into town next week? I cant wait to hear that.

Anonymous said...

Coach Giarmo had his boys ready last night.. WOW what a defensive effort they put on display. They should get Yinger (Offense) and Shinevarre(Defense) back just in time for Riverview. Star wearing the green and gold people.......

I am very happy for the Falcons, they worked hard and it paid off. I feel bad for the Bears, some of the players were giving everything they had, you could see it from the bleachers. Everyone has been on both sides of the ball, when you win, and when you give it all and still come up short. Like Cisco said in the paper today, "back to the drawing board." Hope it brings you together and makes you a better team. End of sermon.

This is from the Examiner

To the Jefferson parent. It's not might. The Falcons are the most disciplined team in the Huron League. Most other teams may not like them but they have the complete package from coaching - to what the expectations are of each and every player to the actual execution of the each play. From what I have seen over the years the desire the Falcon players have to win cannot be taught. We all have a ways to go before our coach’s demand the excellence that is needed to be at their level of play and to have our ALL of our kids to have that type of thought process to be winners. It truly does take a team effort from the top on to the last kid on the bench to be like them. If any of us want to be the elite team in the league you have to beat the elite team in the league and we will all have a ways to go until we are there

GI parent….

How true.

CC runs there mouth on the field more then anyone I have ever seen. We came out flat last night and I really don't know why. Were gonna take this loss just like cc did to crockett and get back on the wagon. 1 loss ok ya it sucked but no big deal. We will have our heads on straight and be ready for GI. Playoffs are what we are focused on and what we will accomplish. This last week of practice was horrible and the staff will not let that happen again! The bears will be undergoing a very very long week of practice and will be ready to go get those next 5 wins.

From what I have been reading, SMCC FANS HAVE NO CLASS! These are not responses from the players, these are responses from classless fans, who do not know how to behave, before, during or after a game. Your TRUE colors have been shown. Then you ask why everyone can't stand you. You are garbage, that why. Show some class. After YOUR loss, it was nothing but excuses. Now you have a win under your belt, and it's haha this or haha that. Grow the hell up, and act like a human being...if you can.

Anonymous said...

Notice how the SMCC fans are refering to Jefferson people as "beach rats" That's very christian like, it's it? SMCC may have the best football team, but they don't have any class. I guess going to a private school teaches you to be a hypocrite. Come on, calling people names based on the area the live in, over a football game? Very poor sportsmanship on the fans behalf. CC players show sportsmanship on and off the field. The fans are the ones giving CC a bad rap.

I have started wearing green and gold underwear, that's the only place those nasty colors should be worn!

Huronleaguefootball said...

So I have to ask. Are you showing class by calling someone garbage?

That's what I thought.

I have an opinion and take it for what it is worth.

On any given day this blog receives anywhere from a 1,000 to 2,000 visitors.

We get a handful of post that non-friendly or like what the last yahoo just posted. I would say we get 5 people at the most writing something like that.

I'm going to try and do some math but remember I was a straight "C" student. If we have 5 yahoo's and 1,000 people minimum a day visiting the site. That would be that .5% of the minimum readership is a yahoo. Make sense?

OK, bear with me here. I can find half a percent of the population that thinks Kwame Kilpatrick is an honest guy, who was a faithful husband and is probably the best mayor the city of Detroit ever had.

My point is, ignore the yahoo's. 99.5% of the fans who support their teams are good people and if your kids went to the same school you would probably be friends.

Now people may ask, "Chris why do you post this garbage"? Well, I'm all about ratings. If I expected people to visit this site because of my musings or observations, I don't think I would have many readers. It's kinda like the "if it bleeds it leads mentality".

Now hopefully I didn't offend people with my honesty here. (well maybe I do expect people to read my stuff because of me, but don't tell anyone right now, I'm making a point) Just remember we are going to get all types on here, (shhh I can help it, it's pretty good stuff) please don't get offended so easily. If you do, walk away and come back an hour. You won't write back what you were originally going to. You will realize it is just a yahoo on the other end.

I don't think that made much sense. Oh well!

And here I've been defending the Jefferson fans saying there's only a few really bad ones writing all the crap, and I still believe it. And the same goes for the SMCC fans. Everyone knows someone from the opposing schools and many of us have relatives from the opposing schools. We know people, and we know good people. There are some that just like to stir things up and do the readers realize that a poster can say they're from ANYWHERE just to start something? Don't believe everything you read! SMCC fans are not garbage, just as Jefferson fans are not beach rats. Actually there are some beach rats that attend SMCC! It's just bullcrap, rivalries just like the jokes a couple days ago, interchangeable to any team, race, creed, color, whatever. If you want to get riled up over it, it's your choice.

To all the Jefferson supporters: Looking back over the last 10 days blog comments, Jefferson trash-talk outnumbers the SMCC supporters' comments 2:1. So the bears think that it's ok for them to make repeated comments about how they're going to crush, whip etc the over-confident falcons yet since the loss they complain about SMCC comments? Give me a break. You want SMCC to have more class because they are Christians THEN in the next breath complain about how CC thinks they're better than everyone. Doesn't make sense. Bottom line is fans should be cautiously optomistic about their team. The over-the-top hype about the a**-whooping that the bears were supposed to impose on the falcons now make those supporters look foolish.

Entering and exiting the field, being amongst a crowd near the concession stand, sitting in the stands I have never heard these so called "classless" fans on either side. It's pretty subdued, in my opinion, although it's no secret what everyone's real feelings are.

Jefferson started stirring the pot as soon as it was known that Crockett beat CC. Comments about how the falcons were weak, losers, over-confident whiners are all over the blog. So, honestly, it IS funny that they were so vocal in their confidence yet were so soundly beaten. Maybe these supporters will be more prudent with their comments in the future.

Also, although CC won convincingly, I haven't seen any comments on how Jefferson's whole year will be a losing one as was said about CC's loss to Crockett. Comments like those are irresponsible.

tFor the jefferson fans that are sick of being disrespected I believe the reason why the smcc players are so excited and pumped up about this win is that they had read the whole week about how jefferson was going to smash smcc and they had called them choir boys and pretty boys with daddy's money. in a sense its a heat of the moment thing. so what we all talk trash everyones gonna do it no matter what. In defense to smcc they are always the one getting thrown under the bus saying oh this should be smccs blog or calling us a bunch of catholic school kids that should be perfect. thats completely wrong. most of the kids that attend smcc need financial aid.. they attend because of the catholic education, faith and tradition. there has always been a rivalry between these two schools. im sure between any other schools it happens. so everyone that tries to thrown smcc under the bus for saying that stuff think about what you type before you do it.

I would like to set the record straight about Jefferson if I may...I am a proud parent of my children & I also attended Jefferson. I am a fan of this blog & do like to read what people think although I typically don't respond to any of it with the exception of now. I've read all of the responses of the earlier blogs & it makes me question as to whom placed them on both sides Jefferson & CC. I honestly feel none of them were posted by the Varsity Jefferson football players, so that only leaves the fans. This to confuses me due to the fact that I know most of the parents & they to feel the same as I do. Reguardless what others may think or feel we are proud of our children, our community, & the school in which we chose for our children to attend! CC came on the field ready to play & won. No one should come on here & put down any school because the way I see it; as do so many others, a game is a game. There are winners, & unfortunately there are losers. The thing is you may be a great team & have an off day & lose. Does that make you a bad team? I think not! Please don't get me wrong on Friday CC by far was the better team & I am proud to say that! The bears didn't show up to play & that's a fact! In retrospect of this; hind sight is always 20/20. Could this game been different....I think so, but could of, would of, should of, will always be a question. The game is over & a win is a win; & CC deserved the win! Now as for the fans....What was done is done! We as parents need to think before we speak; as we teach our children. We first must show good sportsmen-ship if we expect our children to do so! Trash talking on either side of the field doesn't make someone/ some team better! It just makes the ones whom are talking the trash simply look & sound trashy. It is not a good representation of the school nor the team you wanted to bring up it just brings them both down! So as a parent I suggest we might in the future clean the trash up & give our teams words of encouragement leaving out the trash talking of their opponents....just a thought....Sorry for the book Chris but I just felt I had to speak up.
Sincerely,
A Jefferson Alumni & Parent
