Week 3 Predictions Part 1

Week 3 should be an interesting week with 3 games that just may be barnburners. Here are my thoughts on the FR/Milan game, as well as, the Huron/Airport game only at the Examiner.

Take off your homer glasses Shultz Huron will never beat Airport. It dont matter who is coaching Airport or what type of talent we have.

Huron will score, but not that many points. Cmon lets get real who have they played in the 2 games so far? Some pretty good defenses all right.

yea bedford never beat airport either. id get your head on straight before the game just assuming you'll win doesn't mean you will. good luck though

If it becomes a shootout, Airport has too many weapons for Huron. Once Mays and the boys break off a couple long ones Huron will lose it's composure (what else is new).

Huron could have scored 100 on Mason and could have score 50 or more on GI.

I love when teams say "could have" done more to a team. First of all why not do it then? whats holding you back from it? Huron "shouldve" put up 50 or more on GI..who cares..? Riverview "should" have scored on soo many possessions against Milan and the game wouldve been closer...so why not then? Fumbles, interceptions, sacks..whatever it it is, dont say the outcome of a game would be different because a team shouldve dont something else differently. Its called football people, the outcome isnt changed if a team wouldve done something different.

Huron has an offense and Airport has a very average defense thus far. How about you "TAKE OFF YOUR HOMER GLASSES" and realize that this is going to be one heck of a game that could easily go either way. common sense my friends.

Didn't say should have about Huron, I said could have. There is a difference. Huron called off the dogs in both games. Against Mason the starters didn't play in the 2nd half. Heck half of them barely played in the 2nd quarter. Against Grosse Ile they didn't play the entire fourth quarter. Coaches played conservative when they were up big which is what most coaches do. At the end of the 2nd quarter Huron had 1st and goal and looked like they were just working on plays. They took a fore sure FG and tried a new look of some sort on 4th down.

Airport might just get waxed! wouldnt surprise me.

My only concern for Huron is that the moment might be too big. They know this is a huge game for them to prove they are legit. They will be nervous and might make mental mistakes because of it. If they play a good clean game, they will have a very good shot to beat the Jets.

I would be more surprised if Airport won by 20 then if Huron did.

I am certain it is going to be a high scoring game as both offenses are good.

If Huron beats the Jets... who cant they beat then in the league?

We would be talking playoffs in New Boston!! WOW!

I hope that Huron can finally take the next step with their program, but we also have to keep in mind that they were supposed to last year after a hot start.

On a side note, it will be interesting to see who rushes for more yards, Sterling Wilson or Jodeci Mays. Notice I didn't ask who was a better back, I just wonder who will have a bigger game.

Huron defense up the middle will force the issue to the corners, so eat your wheaties all you d-ends and d-backs...Mr. Mays is coming.

Air**** (don't want anyone to get cranky) defense may not force the issue anywhere....so Mr. Wilson should be going, going, GONE.

Offense wins games, Defense wins championships.

Huron exposes Air**** just like they did GI for a big time win.

Not trying to look ahead here...but can't wait for GI vs Air**** matchup. Whodathunkit that Huron creates a huge matchup later in the season???

SMCC played awsome last week...and that is just that..LAST WEEK..No doubt you boys will come out fired up and ready to play just remember everyone is shooting for you and the target on your back is big.Keep your heads low and your feet moving until the whistle blows..that means you 54..work hard boys and good luck..GO CC

SITOFN needs to get slapped right in the face. Boosting up the hopes for a GI team that has done nothing this season so far.

Hummmm, slapping me around for boosting up a team. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Saying a team has done nothing is a stretch too...last I checked the team they beat had a similar result against Crockett that SMCC had...care to splain that one!?

Data my friend...it does speak.

Huron-L?
Milan-W
Riverview-L
SMCC-L
GI-W

Franklin-L

3-6

You just wont get off the Airport kick will ya? Thats alright though. Did you have a nice bowl of "crow" after last week? Huron wont beat Airport, and GI will be lucky to beat Flatrock, let alone talking about a huge matchup between Airport and GI? You have jokes bud.

The winds of change flying around the island are saying one thing, EVERYONE but GI is Strapin it up tight.

Didn't we hear the same thing last year about Huron turning the corner after they beat Jefferson? Time for another reality check Huron.

I think your crazy if you think two of those wins will come from milan and jefferson, while they lose to..... riverview ? ....doesnt make sense to me.

Airport is getting to have poorsport fans anymore... No spirit in the game. If airport is talked down, they come to the defense and say the Jets will "win win win" when they haven't even stepped onto the field yet and talking up a team that hasn't proved much at all this year. They lost a coach, and are in a vulnerable position. Huron is in their prime, and are working hard, keeping focused and playing the whole game, and this football season will be just like last years basketball season with people getting mad and downing Huron because of their PAST history, instead of looking at the present.

Huron is off to a good start and I'm glad to see they're pulling off 2 in a row. Like others have said tho, this is football, and if you don't strap it up tight and play offense and defense, your going to lose. Both Huron and Airport have good offenses and the scoring game will be close. This one, defense will determine a win. So put your "home glasses" on and watch a close game. Huron isn't playing around this year, and this one will be close.

J Dub....I enjoyed my crow, and I'll look for your to enjoy yours too.

Somehow I don't think you'll be as gracious though......

I can only hope you go as silent as all the Jefftrashtalkers did after they choked on their bowl last week.

Easy to pick Milan over FR this week, but I feel so much better when people pick Milan to lose. Oh well, there's always every other week this season...

Hey SITOFN! Wear something with your "secret" blog name on it, so everyone who hands GI a whoopin, can walk over to you after the game and hand you a fresh bowl of crow. It's really hard telling all you Islanders apart, with matching boat shoes and polo shirts.

Good one Goatbutter:

My boat shoes and polo don't match but I bet they cost more than yours!!

BTW...I love crow, good thing because the Red Devils are STINKING IT UP BAD.
