Chris,

SMCC is on the border of D6 n D5. If I were a betting man I would put my money on 5 for the 2013 year.

I think CC would bennifit with a move to D5. Luman Cristi will move down to 6 this year and with Ithaca, Montague and Constantine all going to be strong again this year, 5 is a easier path.

MHSAA has Milan listed at 959 for this year. Did they lose that many students?

Monty is not going to be very strong this year nor Consty. They both lose a ton. I would much rather play those schools vice flint powers and meno.

no excuses at riverview

cc in d5 will result in a state championship.

cc in d 6 will result in another heartbreaking loss for jack

I think Riverview is back! Tyler Chase , Marcus Samuels, Josh Smith, and Jake Walsh .... Oh Boy watch out Huron League they will be Dangerous!!!! Chase, Samuels, and Smith will tear up teams in the ground game, Kroll will have a breakout year in Passing, and Chase, Archer, Walsh, Bacon and Arias will have breakout years! Riverview all the way!

Division 5

Grand Rapids West Catholic
Flint Powers
Portland
Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard.

No way, not gonna happen.

West Catholic will be D6 this year.

It's about 70/30 that SMCC will be in D5 this year. Whatever the case D6 will be loaded with the additions of lumen and GRWC. If CC stays down, wow what a division.

Class has nothing to do with how long you will last in the playoffs in football. 256 teams will qualify for the playoffs and those will be divided into 8 divisions. class only has to do with playoff points(which may either help you get in the playoffs or help secure home games... nothing more)

Classification really does mean something. This year if you beat SMCC you get more points because they are class B. You will get less points for beating Milan this year because they dropped. You get 80 points for a Class A win, 64 for a class B win, 48 for a class C win and 32 for a class D win. Obviously you get bonus points as well for beating teams who have wins. It is usually 8 bonus points for each win your opponent has if you beat them.

Right so in the league this year there are the same amount of points to go around as last year based on class.

That is correct with the exception of SMCC only playing 6 class B's and 1 class A compared to last year where they played 5 class B's and two class A's. Everyone else washes out the same as last season.
