SMCC @ Jefferson

SMCC (7-0) beat Milan last week 41-14 while Jefferson (2-5) fell to Huron 30-14. The Falcons won last season's match up at Navarre Field 47-7. The Falcons lead the all-time series 33-15.

SMCC continues to roll with the state's longest winning streak. The defense is playing well while the running game just continues to grind.

Jefferson blew an early lead to Huron last week and continues to struggle to put up points. The Bears will have their work cut out for them this week.

This rivalry game is always fun. The Bears always find a way to play just a little harder, as do the Falcons. Pick: SMCC 34 Jefferson 7

I don't see SMCC looking ahead so expect no let down here. Kipf has done a great job with the boys. Everyone will say he had a easy job since he had the talent. These would be the same guys that said SMCC was to small and slow. Considering what SMCC lost I am seriously shocked that the boys are at the level hey are at right now. I knew they would be good but they are much better than good.

I give C.C all the credit in the world for another Great Season!! Just hope we can keep it close and competitive!! with that said that is a pretty fair score!! We can hang in there till halftime then we will prob burn out like we have in the 2nd half. Hope not but you have to be honest with yourself. C.C 42-14

Had enough of SMCC already. Stacked as usual. Now I hear they are stacked in basketball.

Jefferson will give them a good fight. This is usually a big rivalry since Jefferson has so many kids from their district attending SMCC. I expect a knock down, drag out game. Win or Lose Jefferson's presence WILL be felt.

SMCC 34, Jefferson 20.

I don't see that happening. SMCC has too good of an o line to only score 34 on a defense like Jefferson. Especially after putting up 41 on Milan. Also Smcc will play hungry looking to get the Huron league championship and having the states longest winning streak. Smcc won't give up 20 points to Jefferson the most they've given up on league play was 14 to Milan who is much better than Jefferson. 2nd string won't move the ball for Smcc and they will play half the game so the score will be closer than the game. Low scoring game SMCC controls t.o.p. SMCC 27 Jefferson 8

If parents want (and have always wanted) their kids to go to SMCC, where do you suppose they are going to live? I guess they should buy a house in the SMCC District. SMCC 49 Jefferson 0 (35-0 half).

Had enough of your whining already. Crying as usual. Now I hear that you're complaining about basketball.
Jefferson will give them a good scrimmage. This is usually a big rivalry because Jefferson normally has a decent football team. I expect a knock down, drag out game. Jefferson's presence will be felt because they're playing on their own field.

Basketball has been stacked for the last few years nothing has changed lol

There will be complaints forever. Get used to it. I always forget that your kids work harder than ours, your parents are better and your coaches are better. Damn, I should just crawl in a hole and rot. Luckily I am able to get a job in the real world with all those things against me.

Hopefully Jefferson or LCC can pull off a victory. Real tired of hearing about this short little win streak. When you have a streak like Ithaca had, get back to me.

Wheres that petition? Count me in.

In the mean time, theres a game tomorrow night. If Jefferson can make adjustments as often as they need, they could hang with you. We had a couple nice long, all rushing drives last week. The only reason you beat Milan was because you kept them off the field. We will do our part to keep you off the field this week.

It will be impossible for you to duplicate the motivation that our seniors have to beat you this season.

Jefferson 28, SMCC 27.

Anyone know if there is a sport called baseball ??

Cc picked up a 6'8 transfer for basketball that has been visiting UofM but I guess nothing changes

So your not happy with CC 's success? LCC will be a tough challenge. This week not so much.
Keep dreaming

Anonymous said...

Sorry that your program isn't what it use to be.

Time to wake up, I think your dreaming again.

12:12 - The reason SMCC beat Milan was because they were better. They could play nine more times and the outcome would be the same. I hope your seniors are motivated and that they do play a great game. I could go on forever about your type but why bother. Pretty sad to be a guy who's whole season is going to be made if SMCC gets a loss. Just speaks volumes for your mentality and personal being.

You may have a job in the real world, but it isn't in vegas with predictions like that. Hope you stay far away from gambling.

For any of us that actually played in any of these Jefferson-CC rivalry games over the years - this is an awesome week. The emotion and the hard work coming into tomorrow's game is intense on both sides. For all the jawing and citing of stats (current and historical), this game seriously can go to either team. (Bear Country - are you listening?)

I think the important thing is to be appreciative that you get to be a part of the best sport on Earth at some small schools that give unconditional support. Good luck to both teams. The Bear seniors better focus in and realize that this is it and you don't get a next year (for the rest of your life - and no matter how minimal your high school football years become once you become an adult - you won't forget the win or the loss in a CC game ). I hope the Falcons, for all their lofty talent and expectations, realize that winning or losing this game will be a big part in defining their season (regardless of how far they go in the playoffs). This rivalry is legendary for the people from the area (past and present). Here's hoping both sides (fans included) show tremendous class and effort.

Don't sleep on the wounded Bears. The conclusion is not foregone. Falcons better say a few extra rosaries for tomorrow. (Bears - don't make us "anonymous commenters" on here some liars! Bear Down.)

If the game is within 4 tds I'll be extremely shocked. Jefferson isn't good this year, my friend.

Jefferson 30. Smcc 6. JV Score. Final.

Well said 5:01. I will withhold my negative SMCC comments, that hit the nail on the head. I was involved in this rivalry back in the day. Good Stuff.

GO BEARS.

1 parting shot, referring to me as "my type" 3:29. That's way out of line. I know more about being a Catholic than you ever will. I do believe in Karma.

Anonymous said...

9:34- lol - if your such the great Catholic then you cannot believe in Karma. Wrong religion.

Anonymous said...

Let us Prey !!! SMCC rolls in this one.

Anonymous said...

Karma isn't Catholic. It is Hinduism and Buddhism. Shows what you know.

This is going to be a tough game to watch. I have been looking forward to this game for some time. Looking and wanting to see a Couple seniors bust out #84 & #11. Just wish that senior #38 wasn't stuck on the Sidelines!! Gonna be fun to watch and hope we play a great game. There is just something missing when your son worked hard and is anchored to the sidelines. But it builds character and for sure has. I know a few C.C kids and wish you luck tonight and in the Future. Plus a lot of the players have played other Sports together and have respect for each other. funny the kids seem to have more respect than the parents lol!! Also CC Faithful there will be a Mud Hens fundraiser tonight show your class and help support!! @ 5:03 P.M Bear Down # 84 DAD!!! Have a Career game tonight !!

SMCC rolls to a 2nd straight league title tonight. EM

I do not view Karma as a religious belief. Would it make u feel better if I said "what comes around, goes around." What religion is that smart a** ?

There are lots of great Catholics all over this county that aren't involved with SMCC. You don't have to be part of SMCC to be a good catholic person. From what I hear a growing part of the school is even catholic anyhow.

If I'm a smart a**, that makes you a dumb a**. As such, I can help you. "What comes around goes around" would be Karma. That falls into Hinduism and Buddhism.

There are indeed Catholics all over that have nothing to do with SMCC. If you went to Mass last week, you might recall in the Gospel that Jesus said, "No one is good but God alone." I would understand then that the phrase "great Catholics" is inherently not Catholic. Non of us are good nor great.

Catholics (and all Christians) believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for our sins. That His blood is the ransom for our salvation. There is no Karma in Christian belief. For more information about this very important topic (salvation), please contact a faith filled priest or minister.

Hope you made it to Mass today, sincerely. If you didn't, St Mary's Rockwood has a Sunday evening Mass at 5:15pm.
