Congrats to Milan on the district title. I hope all 10 of Denby's fans have a safe ride home. EM

I guess you guys were right easiest district so far for Milan. Congrats!!!!

And he's not exaggerating. 10 parents. Then their band showed up. Definitely did not have the feel of a district playoff game.

Wow! Congrats to Milan on a big win. Did not get to the game, but it sounds like DD didn't play much defense. Who's next?

No disrespect to Detroit Denby but what a embarrassment for a varsity program. Couldnt even line up in good defense base. Those Denby coaches probably thought Milan ran to TE on every play lol. Learn how to position to stop power, zone and misdirection every one runs it.

Their coach played at UM. He knows what he is doing. Are you saying Denby had more talent?

Anonymous said...

CS good job on the fan stuff but you forgot to mention its cold outside too lol

Milan gets to scout Detroit Country Day on Saturday. That's a gift. But their scouts saw Milan tonight. But what weird conclusions they would draw from this game. If you saw this game as a scout what would your report look like?

Anonymous said...

Yeah undercoached talent.

UM MSU i ddnt see none of that they looked like a freshman team. Poor alignments poor techniques. they ddnt have a clue or a game plan to slow down not to mention to stop power, zone or misdirection.

So funny. Milan plays a great game and beats a good football team and some pion wants to hate. Well three of four loses by Denby were to Cass Tech, East English, and Martin Luther King. All three will be competing for a state title in division 1 and 2 this year. Denby beats an undefeated Northwestern team last week and they are awful? The fact is that Tony Blankenship is one of the best coaches in the PSL and has been for years if you've ever followed HS football in Detroit. They chose to put 8 or 9 men in the box and blitz to stop Milan's running game. The fact is that the offensive line played exceptional and their best game of the year. They created holes for their backs to run through and when you choose to put 8 or 9 in the box, two things will happen. You stuff the offense for no gain or you give up big plays.

I thought the Milan OC kept the defense off balance all night with fakes and misdirection and tempo we haven't seen this year. And I thought the o-line was exceptional. Btw..... Milan ran just as much away from the TE as they did to it. Just like they have all year. Congrats to these kids and coaches who have had to endur some very tough things over the last 5 weeks. Our community is proud of what you boys have overcome and the way you represent us. Did they get a good district draw? Yes. The only other option would be them playing Detroit County day tonight instead of next week. You don't choose the layoff pairings. You boys deserve everything you've earned from the hard work you put in and Milan's 3rd district title in school history. Congratulations

Denby had some good players. #5 ran real hard. They were about the biggest team we played. Toss up between them and RV. They had some good receivers with speed. They blitzed a lot there for we had big plays.
Denby was not a bad team.

#5 for Denby musta had 200 yards on kick returns alone. Denby has some good athletes but obviously could do nothing defensively. Lindeman and Barnes ran wild all night. If Cranbrook upsets Country Day I believe Milan gets another home game. EM

Clinton won 43-20 over Madison Heights. The deeper they go into the playoffs the better CC's team will look after that loss.

Country day is up 36 to 0

Congrats to Milan!

DCC won 42-6. We will play there. Went and watched the first half. Milan will be prepared.

Anonymous said...

Country Day is well coached and i betcha they know how to line up to power, zone and misdirection. they will have a game plan and scheme and line up not hoping to get lucky and stop a good offense.

Anonymous said...

I coach HS and Denby was not coached up I agree with 11:10. they had talent and some size too. Milan won but PSL football idk...

Anonymous said...

Country Day is exceptional this year like they are most years.
