Airport @ Riverview

Be sure to check out the podcast: Airport @ Riverview

Airport (1-2) is coming off of a 20-7 loss to Jefferson while Riverview (0-3) fell at Milan 38-22. The Pirates won last seasons game by a score of 41-19 and lead the all-time series 23-15.

Airport struggled with turnovers last week against Jefferson and is averaging just 10 ppg in league play. The defense has been solid at times, but has struggled when put in tough situations because of turnovers.

Riverview has played opponents with a combined 8-1 record. The offense has struggled at times , but was able to find the end zone last week at Milan. The defense is giving up nearly 38 ppg.

Both teams need a win right now. This should be a defensive struggle and will most likely be low scoring. Prediction: Airport 14 Riverview 13

Love to see the matchup of Mossberg against those big lineman coming at him. We'll see what the kid is made up of Friday.

I know what Airport needs to do offensively-run the ball!! With all 3 backs. However, I have a feeling we're gonna see the same play calling we've seen the last 2 weeks.

I think that view can put up 30 on airport.

Airport gets it worked out. 28-7

If AP can't score on Jefferson, they might be in trouble. Riverview defense is much better after seeing both teams play. And the game is at Riverview..... Look for the the Pirates to celebrate a much needed first win.

Not gonna happen! We'll be lucky if there's 30 points between both teams! We will hope Airport shows up mentally this week. If not UGH I hate to even think about it!!!!

Here is a snipit of a late September Thoughts and questions from 2015.

Not sure the view lived up to the hype Chris. haha

Riverview is my early pick for 2016 Huron League Champ.

Beautiful night for football last night

I'm working on my all league teams. Any suggestions?

18 seconds left, ball on the half yard line with one timeout and you only manage two plays?

Can't get any earlier than that.

Why is #15 running the ball? He's big strong and aggressive and fast but he's nothe a ball carrier. Plain and simple.

Sad coaching on both sides of the ball for AP.

In fairness to chris and the view: had their QB not went down in 7 on 7's they would be in the hunt !!! He had good info and vision at the time. He also said even earlier ( end of last season that grosse ile could be very good). Although they've not yet played the tougher teams he may be right The guys usually spot on and stays unbiased. Even though he missed the view and airport this week. Lol.

It is definitely a coaching issue on Airports side. Alot of the boys on this years team came from last years JV team that went 8-1 so don't tell me they don't have talent. When you have coaches from the other team coming up to AP parents and telling them they know what play we are running before its even run. That's a problem. Airport will never be a great team again until there are some coaching changes.

Look at the roster and note matching last names with the coaching staff.
