Riverview @ Grosse Ile

Riverview (2-5) is coming of of a 34-14 victory over Flat Rock while Grosse Ile (6-1) beat Airport 33-7. The Pirates won last seasons match up 21-20 and lead the all-time series 36-20.

Riverview was able to run the ball effectively against Flat Rock last week, but should have some tough sledding against a very good Red Devil front four.

Grosse Ile responded well last week against Airport after their loss to Milan and has an opportunity to finish in a tie for the league championship with a win.

This is the annual battle for the Colvin Cup. This is a rivalry that you can truly throw the records away when these teams play. An Islander win would clinch at least a share of the league championship. A win for Riverview would be another step in the right direction while laying the ground work for next season. Pick: Grosse Ile 35 Riverview 20

Gary's Pick: GI 35 Riverview 14

It's time for the cup to come home, I do not see Riverview scoring against GI. These boys are hungry, and new weapons have emerged nearing the end of the season. Watch out for #3 Jacob Reeves to have a big game. He played like an animal against the Jets. Wiewuera, Blanzy, Trombley, and Marx are going to shut down the run completely, and from what I have seen, the Pirates have had some serious difficulties passing, so that will not be a factor. Vollmerhausen will run for 150 or more. Moores will go off. Riverview barely got away with a victory last year, something is telling me the Red Devils did not forget that last play loss. This game is going to get ugly fast.

It's going to be a hit party boys!

I don't understand what the Red Devils big accomplishment would be you should win this game you have almost 2 times more seniors on your team! The Bucs have a hand full of seniors mostly juniors and 4 sophmores that start and have been had more injuries that probably most teams so on paper yep you should win! Just don't expect these Bucs to roll over these are still some good players and remember next year when this same Bucs team is full of seniors what comes around goes around!!! Go Bucs

We will pound GI right up the gut, Vollmerwho will not be a factor. You wouldn't be champions anyway, Milan beat you!

Co-Champions, and that's if you win. Good luck.

GI would be co- champions if they win. they shut out SMCC Milan lost to SMCC. Milan beat Grosse Ile. As we know it does t matter what your record is with these two teams it's going to be a hard-nosed football game, nothing better than a good rivalry game.

You are so right Devils You have this one in the bag. Please bring that attitude to this game. This Riverview Team will be ready. They too have a big powerful line. As many teams have stated this season. Riverview is much better than the record shows.I expect our big boys to push right back.

I kinda hope we see GI in the playoffs, that way the tie breaker for this co-champion stuff can be settled.
Just saying.

Was no longer matters. When GI plays Milan in the playoffs (ON GRASS) will be what matters.

If riverview was so much better then there record they wouldn't be 2-5.

OG Islander - I hope the Galaxy Note 7 you use to post on this blog blows your tiny hands off.

This whole co-champions thing between you and the other parents is beyond ridiculous. You won, you deserved to win because we couldn't get it done that night. Let's say we win tonight, and so do you, no matter what you say or do, even if you wave your magic wand and say "expecto patronum", there will be 2 champions in the league. Get over it. This isn't even your team's page. How about I go to the Milan page and butt in and remind you that SMCC beat you? It's all so childish. I suppose that's the reason for the tantrum we saw in Saline when somebody received the Unsportsmanlike conduct, it runs deep there in Milan.
